Friday Favorites: Candles

Candles are sublime!  We love the warm ambiance created by a flickering candle.  We love the fragrance emitted from a good candle.  Although candles are wonderful to burn any time of year, this rainy Portland spring has really made us turn to nesting in our homes and cheering ourselves up with the lovely ambiance and fragrances of our favorite candles.

First are Lynn's favorites:

Amber Bergamot is a staple in Lynn's house year around.  Its aroma is a smooth, velvety combination of aromatic bergamot and sultry amber.  It is a sophisticated scent that both men and women enjoy.

Bob's Flower Shop is also by Trapp Candles.  This candle is amazing!  It is the most realistic floral scent we've ever encountered.  It is a blend of flowers so you are not overpowered by one scent over another.  If you walk into a home where Bob's Flower Shop is burning you will swear there must be a fresh-cut bouquet somewhere.  It is exactly like walking into a flower market and the fragrance of all flowers, freshly cut green stems and water droplets on every petal.

Havana must be smelled to understand the awesomeness of this fragrance.  It is a blend of bergamot, tobacco leaf and ylang ylang.  I've seen people crinkle their nose when I talk about a tobacco scented candle until they sniff it for themselves and fall in love.  This fragrance is addictive!

Makasar Peach & Ebony is another candle that cannot be appreciated by the description.  You must smell this one burning!  It is a complex blend of warm ebony wood, rich mahogany, mirabelle peaches and s touch of sweet peony.  The rich woody fragrance combined with the fruity fragrance of the peach is fabulous!

Lounge is a scent from Paddywax's "rooms" collection.  Designed to represent the lounge, this candle can be used in any room any time of year.  It is an elegant fragrance of cardamon and tonka bean.

Drama is dramatic indeed.  Its fragrance comes from vetiver, jasmine , and ylang ylang.  Dedicated to those of us who have our dramatic moments and those who deal with them.
